A passionate life – By Christopher Barr

I’ve met you once or twice
In places of gentle meaning
Standing mute so near to bottled lightning
A rejection of constraints through sown compassion
Was there rain within the serene smile?
I felt only a glint of subtle harmony.
I knew you mainly through my daughter
Her empathy acquired of imposing trials,
For will of stone that grew to confront each test.
Diminishing essence betrayed the soaring spirit
The ardent fire of your heart fought against eroding strength
creating a craving for each moment
It was only necessary to listen to my child to feel
the importance of giving meaning to being.
Hearing moved me to an uncommon intensity for a passionate life.
