RHS Girls Soccer Wins 3-1
Romeo, MI– The Romeo Girls Varsity Soccer team played their last Macomb Area Conference (MAC) game of the year on Monday, and they beat the Utica Chieftains 3-1. Romeo and Utica are both members of the MAC White division.
Utica scored first, but the lead did not last long. Romeo senior Ashley Flinn took a punt from Romeo’s Goalie, Marina Menzo, and beat the Chieftains defense. The first half ended in a 1-1 tie.
The second half featured good play by both teams but Romeo finally turned up the heat and struck again. Ashley Flinn took a pass from Kelly Petzold, made a sweet run and beat the Chieftain Goalie for the second time, giving the Dawgs a 2-1 lead. Shortly after that goal, Flinn fed Bulldog teammate Cassidy Mikula who put her shot past the Chieftain goalie.
The game ended 3-1 Romeo. The Dawgs final MAC record is 4-4-4, and their overall record is now 5-8-4. Their next game is Wednesday, May 25th in Port Huron versus Port Huron Northern.
